Among other things, I do collect stray photographs and other images. Since I have family from Somerset, England, this photograph caught my eye recently. It's identified in ink as "Sally Herbert" and was taken by Sydney Smyth of Waterloo Street, in Weston Super Mare, Somerset. Love her dress!
If you have a connection to Sally Herbert, or to the photographer Sydney Smyth, I'd like to hear from you.

Sydney SMYTH was certainly in Weston-super-Mare in 1881 and working as a photographer along with his son Henry SMYTH
Thank you, Pat. I will be doing some research about these photographers.
And on the back, there is a reference to Smyth's having the negatives of another photographer, M. Wilkinson(?). Some research on that person may narrow down the date for me.
Richard Wilkinson's studio in Regent Street, Weston-super-Mare, was closed in Nov 1878. Sydney Smyth (1821-1888) was in Weston-super-Mare from 1877 until his death
